This digital promo for the film Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves spread across social platforms and excited viewers by uniting two unlikely fandoms together.

TO PLAY DUNGEONS & DRAGONS”

 

Towards the end of the marketing campaign for Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, my team and I were tasked by Paramount Pictures to create an ad that linked the director of the film, John Francis Daley, to his roots as a cast member from the 1999 cult TV classic, Freaks and Geeks. To do this, we worked with Freaks and Geeks actors John Francis Daley, Martin Starr, and Samm Levine. I oversaw the on-set production team, the art department tasked with rebuilding a set from the show’s finale, and the post-production and finishing teams to recapture the spirit of the original show.

The result was a promo that blew up on social media turning initial skeptics of the film into excited moviegoers. In the first 96 hours before the film’s release, the promo exceeded expectations, gaining more than 1.72M organic Twitter impressions.
