When I was approached to direct the music video for Sapra’s song, “Always on My Mind” I was inspired to create a sense of drama within the concept by illustrating a strong sense of longing for a person that you love, but are unable to be with. In the video, Sapra plays a prisoner who is forced to undergo an off-the-books memory wiping procedure in order to be released early from his sentence. As we experience this procedure from his perspective, we see Sapra’s character go through a spiritual and emotional journey of self-reflection. He looks onto the past memories of his girlfriend with longing and regret while also desperately trying to keep the memory of her and their romance from being erased forever.
